Cancellation Information

McAninch Sports Complex weather policy:
All cancellation decisions will be announced by 4:00 pm each day. Cancellations are sent by email and posted on our social media pages and website. Please do not call the office before 4:00 pm to check. If you do not receive a cancellation by email by 4:00 pm then plan to be at the scheduled activity! (We will not cancel for temperature unless it drops below 30 degrees Fahrenheit or rises to an extreme temperature causing a heat advisory.)

Norwalk Aquatic Center’s weather policy:
If there is only rain, with no thunder or lightning, Norwalk Aquatic Center will still hold lessons in the water. If the rain becomes heavy and lifeguards cannot see the bottom, swimmers will be pulled out of the water for on-land learning until the rain clears up.

If the weather produces thunder and lightning during your week of lessons, staff will hold on-land activities in the admissions office for one (1) day. Any additional weather days producing thunder and lightning, during the same week of lessons, will be cancelled, there will be no make-up lessons or refunds given.

All weather updates will be posted on our website, social media pages, such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, as well as, sent by email. Remember to check your junk mail.

How to Register for Programs:
All registrations need to be made at the Norwalk Parks and Recreation office or online. There are 2 easy sign-up options for your convenience:

On-line registration (paperless)
Walk in and register during office hours.
