Norwalk Parks and Recreation offers a variety of events throughout the year.  Events offered include Daddy Daughter Dance, Easter Egg Hunt, Bike Safety Day, Drive in Trick or Treat, and many more.



Mommy and Me image


Mommy & Me Dance

The Park and Recreation Department will host Mothers and their child(ren) for an evening filled with dancing, fun, light snacks, dessert and photo opportunities. If mom is not available, an aunt, sister, grandmother or mother figure is always welcome. All ages are welcome!

Daddy Daughter Dance

The Norwalk Parks and Recreation hosts the social event of the year for debonair Dads and their darling daughter(s).  This is an evening filled with dancing and fun to enjoy with your daughter(s) that will include, snacks, desserts, photograph opportunities and lots of memories.  If Dad is not available, an Uncle, Brother, or Grandfather is always welcome.  All ages are welcome!

Drive in trick or treat image

Drive in Trick or Treat  
Wednesday, October 30
5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Location: Fire Station, drive through the South side of bay 1 and 2

--Before you head out for a ghostly fun time in your neighborhood be sure to stop by the Public Safety Building to pick up your trick-or-treat bag, glow sticks, and treats.  This event is for children in Preschool to 5th grade.

bike safety day image

Bike Safety Day

Norwalk Parks and Recreation partners with Norwalk Police Department, Fire Department, and many sponsors to put on this event.  Participants will bring their bikes and get their bike inspected as well as a ride a safety course.  There will be a guest speaker talking about bike safety.  After completing the course the group will be led on a bike ride in the area surrounding the Norwalk Public Safety Building.  Bike helmets will be worn during the ride.  Each register child (age 5 to 5th grade) will have a chance to win door prizes as well as a brand new bike and you must be present to win.  Parent volunteers are welcome and are encouraged to ride along with their child if under the age of 7.  Free helmets and t-shirts are given to participants.  Refreshments are provided.  Located at the Norwalk Public Safety building.

Easter egg hunt image

Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt

When the sun goes down, the fun begins.  You are required to bring your own flashlight (size limited to no larger than 2 "D" cell batteries.)  An adult must accompany all children.  Each child is limited to 20 eggs.  This program is designed for children 8 and under.  They will be split up into age groups, with one age group per field;
2 yrs old & under, 3 & 4 yrs old, 5 & 6 yrs old,
and 7 & 8 yrs old.  
Located at the Norwalk McAninch Sports Complex.

8:15 pm to 9:00 pm
Cost:  $5.35 per resident child / $6.15 per non-resident child
