Norwalk Parks and Recreation offers a variety of camps, clinics, and clubs throughout the year.  Programs offered include Arts and Crafts, Babysitting Clinic, Bike Safety, Chess, and more.

Craft Club image

Craft Club

Get out your glue gun and imaginations for this program.  Children in 3rd through 5th grades at Lakewood Elementary are invited to join.  They meet once a month after school on early out Wednesdays to make special art and craft projects.  Located at Norwalk Lakewood Elementary Art room.

Art in the Park image

Art in the Park

Come join us in the park to make special arts and crafts projects.  The kids meet once a month and make a different project each month.  This program is for students who just completed Kindergarten - 6th grade.  Located at Windflower Park.

Babysitting clinic image

Babysitting Clinic

This class is open for all youth (boys & girls) 5th grade and up.  Babysitting is an important job and the Babysitting Clinic will teach you to become a first-rate babysitter.  This class is held during Norwalk School's Spring Break.  Located at the Norwalk Public Safety building and instructed by ISU Extension Warren County.

Junior Police Academy image

Junior Police Academy

This program is a partnership between the Parks and Recreation department and the Norwalk Police department and is opportunity for the police officers to build a positive bridge with the youth of the community.  Cadets will take part in fingerprinting, investigating a crime scene, taking photos, casting footprints, and running an obstacle course.  Each student will receive a t-shirt.  Located at the Norwalk Public Safety building.

Chess camp image

Chess Summer Camp

Brent Walker, retired Norwalk HS teacher, will provide fun, informative, and challenging chess lessons to students from the surrounding area.  This program is open to children 1st - 12th grade (just completed). Chess is a fun game with lots of moves to improve student's logic, concentration, and critical-thinking skills along with the important life concepts such as the ability to win graciously and accept defeat with dignity and sportsmanship.  At the end of camp, the student will receive a t-shirt and participate in a mini-chess tournament with a trophy to the winner.  Located at the Norwalk Public Safety building.
