I Have Holds to Pick Up – What Do I Do?

1.     Drive to the library during curbside hours (Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3:00-6:00 p.m. & Saturdays from 10:00 a.m-Noon) and park in one of the parking spots designated with a numbered, orange traffic cone*.

2.     Call the library at 515-981-0217 and provide your name and parking space number to the staff.

3.     Remain in your car with the windows up.  Staff will bring your materials in a plastic bag marked with your name to the table in front of the library and return to the library.

4.     Exit your car and carefully cross the parking lot to retrieve your items.  If you have materials to return to the library, please bring them to the library drop box at this time.

5.     Watch for oncoming traffic as you cross the parking lot to your car and drive home to enjoy your library materials!

*If the parking spaces with numbered, orange traffic cones are full, please wait to park & call staff.  We will be working as quickly as possible, but we are only able to help a few people at one time and we want to help ensure a safe curbside experience for everyone.

How Do I Know That Library Materials are Safe for Me to Handle?

Library staff are taking every measure to ensure safety of your loaned items.  Upon return to the library, all materials are placed in a quarantined area for a minimum of three days.  After that, each item is wiped down with a sanitizing spray and cloth.  Staff are also following best practices of hand washing, wearing masks, using hand sanitizer, physical distancing, staying home when feeling ill, and other methods to prevent the spread of the virus as advised by the State Library of Iowa, CDC, and Institute of Library and Museum Services.

Is the Library Accepting Donations of Materials?

Unfortunately, we are not able to accept donated materials at this time due to space limitations & safety restrictions.
