2020 Census Update
Posted on 05/19/2020

As of Monday, May 18th, 2020 Norwalk's response rate for the 2020 Census was at 71.2%.

Residents who have not responded to the Census online or by phone will be receiving a paper questionnaire.

The U.S. Census Bureau, in coordination with federal, state and local health officials, will begin to drop off 2020 Census questionnaire packets at front doors this week for residents who have not filled out their Census.

Temporary field staff have been trained to observe all social distancing protocols and will wear official government-provided personal protective equipment for their safety and the safety of the public. This operation is contactless and follows the most current federal health and safety guidelines.

By responding to the Census, you help ensure our community will receive its fair share of federal funds, grants and support for local hospitals, first responders, health clinics and many other programs such as the school lunch program and services for families in need.

Norwalk having the highest and most accurate counts will also help the City recruit and quality for retail such as restaurants, coffee shops, stores and entertainment destinations.
